Editing scripts

The iLoader Client loads a series of data files and decode files; this is an automatic process controlled by the script files.

It is highly recommended that you perform all your editing in the Datatrans.txt script. It provides complete iLoader functionality and allows you to keep all your definitions and specifications in one place.

Script files are text files that can be edited in any text editor (including Windows Notepad). Alternatively, iLoader has its own editor and acts as a management system, this gives you one location and interface from which to edit or review all the scripts. It also provides a script editing toolbar that allows you to comment out lines of code, has book marking features and a Find button.

iLoader scripts are text-based files that control:

• The definition of Engine Databases
• The definition of Engine Database Tables and their Fields (columns)
• The definition of links between Engine Tables (relationships)
• The definition of various types of Data Transformation (data that is derived from other data, including transforming or cleaning)
• The execution of the load of data from a data source (such as a text file)
